Timeform UK SmartPlays: Monday August 8
Reinforced – Ayr 14:30
Three-year-old Reinforced can get the better of his mostly-older rivals in this seven-furlong handicap, with the step up in trip expected to suit him. Reinforced performed below expectations when fifth of 13 to Vincenzo Coccotti in a six-furlong handicap at Yarmouth last time but the promise of his reappearance second to In My Place (won again next time) at Redcar is still fresh in the memory and he's taken to get back on track in first-time cheekpieces.
Figurante – Wolverhampton 16:45
Hold-up performer Figurante did not get the race to suit her when third of seven to Penwortham in a handicap at Goodwood when last seen two months ago and she can quickly get back to winning ways with more pace on here (courtesy of Colourfilly and Coronation Day). Figurante has already won three races this year, including over C&D in April, and she remains with potential after nine starts. She's bred to be better than this level as a half-sister to smart miler Saint Bernard and useful winner up to a mile Whispering Angel.
Fandango – Ffos Las 19:00
An intriguing mile-and-a-half handicap can go to Fandango who was left with too much to do when a staying-on third over almost this trip at Bath and remains of interest off this sort of mark. That was Fandango's second start in handicaps and just about his best effort yet on form, and this 67,000-euro yearling should have more to offer as his stamina is tested further. Jockey David Parkes takes a useful 5 lb off Fandango's back, too.
