Tingle Creek option for Sir

Tom George feels he may have to step Sir Valentino up to the highest level for next month's Betfair Tingle Creek Chase.

Sir Valentino (r) could head for the Tingle Creek Chase

The seven-year-old was on the go through the summer but defied a handicap mark of 147 to beat Garde Le Victoire in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter.

Put up 4lb for that success, George thinks he would struggle in handicap company and he may have to take on Sprinter Sacre et al.

"I suppose we'll have to think about the Tingle Creek," said the Slad-based handler.

"It seems a long shot to me, but I suppose someone has to take on Sprinter Sacre.

"He's on 151 so handicaps are out of the equation now.

"He's come out of the race in good form and is back cantering, that win was a big bonus for us."
