Tip of the day: Asset management
Ian Ogg heads to Wolverhampton for the Sporting Life racing tip where the return of Luke Morris could make the difference.
Luke Morris takes the ride on Noble Asset
"A customer can have a car painted any colour he wants as long as it's black" and there might not be many more options on offer to racing's customers today if Sedgefield fails to pass a second inspection.
Too much choice is deemed to be a bad thing in some quarters and such folk will be able to concentrate on Wolverhampton's eight race card to their hearts' content.
The card is unusually top-heavy with a 0-95 and a 0-85 up first before the meeting gradually descends through the ranks to the closing 0-55 handicap over an extended mile.
Jamie Osborne and Adam Kirby have a 33 per cent strike rate when they combine which they do in the opening two races and any support for Russian Soul on his first run for the yard or Every Chance on his return from 420 days on the sidelines would be well worth noting.
The suggestion, though, is to side with Noble Asset who has tumbled down the weights over the last 18 months but who has now found his level finishing relatively close up on all of his last five runs, all at Wolverhampton.
Luke Morris was on board for the first of those efforts and is back in the plate for the first time since and his knowledge of the six-year-old will be an asset given he can race keenly and clearly takes a bit of knowing.
Coupled with a declining handicap mark, it may be enough to see Noble Asset end a long losing streak in a modest contest.
