Tip of the Day: Bingo wins

Ben Linfoot is in the Tip of the Day hotseat and he fancies Noel Williams' good form to continue this afternoon.

Bingo D'Olivate – 2.20 Ffos Las

The Booker Wholesale Handicap Hurdle at Ffos Las (2.20) revolves around recent Sandown winner Limited Reserve, who is clear 7/2 favourite on the back of that success.

That was the best run of his career by a mile, but he had dropped to a mark of 99 and was ridden by a 3lb claimer. Things are going to be much tougher today off an 8lb higher mark and I'm not sure he had as much in hand last time as his five-length winning margin might indicate.

I'm more than happy to take him on and the same can be said for Oscarteea and Bennys King who both look vulnerable over this trip.

Makethedifference was the beneficiary of a fine ride when third in the Gerry Feilden last time and isn't guaranteed to replicate that run, while Prussian Eagle, Key To The West, Beallandendall and Calculated Risk look to be up against it even on their best form.

By process of elimination, then, that leaves BINGO D'OLIVATE and at around 5/1 Noel Williams' horse looks worthy of support this afternoon.

The five-year-old French import struggled with his jumping on his first four starts in this country, but everything clicked at Newbury in March when he won a handicap in heavy ground off 114.

He thrashed King Muro that day who went and won a handicap hurdle on his very next start, so the 11lb rise from the handicapper looked justified and he shaped well on his first start since at Lingfield last month.

That was his first run off his new mark and his first for almost nine months, so he did well to be beaten just three lengths in fifth considering he was a bit keen in the rear off what was a steady pace.

Given there's a few prominent racers and one or two that need further in today's field, it is to be presumed this afternoon's race will be run at a stronger gallop and that will suit the selection given he can be a bit keen.

Improvement can be expected from his seasonal reappearance and his stable remain in really good form after saddling Cheltenham winner Briery Queen at the weekend.

With question marks hanging over a good few of his rivals, the balls may well drop right for Bingo in Wales today.
