Tip Of The Day: Get in the Hole
Our man Will Hayler finds inspiration from his troubled teenage years to make his selection at Kempton this evening.
Trainer Ian Williams: Could win with anything.
There are three good reasons for backing Black Hole Sun today.
Firstly is that when I was a troubled teen, it was one of my favourite records (yes, kids, records!). I was never quite sure what it was all about but the bleakness and angst of the chorus appealed to me and my Mum didn't like the video (yes, kids, video!) when it was on Top Of The Pops.
Secondly, Ian Williams is in scorching form at the moment. Seriously. He was even able to get Masamah to win for the first time in about 100 years the other day and plenty have had a go at that game without success.
Thirdly, Black Hole Sun won snugly on her debut for Williams the other day at Wolverhampton and doesn't get a penalty for that victory as it came in an apprentices' contest. She's utterly unexposed and, if anything, the move up in trip to a mile and a half looks a positive on breeding rather than a concern.
The opposition here isn't weak for the grade and Black Hole Sun will probably need to find a little more than needed on her first start for the stable, but I don't rate that a major concern given her overall profile and the form of the yard.
