Tip of the day: Riding Miss Daisy
A drop in grade and return to Lingfield can work the oracle for a filly who didn't get the run of the race last time, says Ian Ogg.
Martin Harley takes the ride on Little Miss Daisy
There are any number of potentially well named horses running with Donald Trump's inauguration in mind but for many The Worlds End will probably suffice in the opener at Chepstow.
Trainer Tom George also saddles a leading contender in the second in the form of Battle Of Shiloh but I wondered whether the combination of handicapping on testing ground would bring about an improved showing from Join The Clan who is well treated on his hurdles form.
The market is offering little encouragement in that regard at present and nor has there been any move for Askari who is the second runner for new Newmarket handler Tom Clover whose one runner to date has finished second on both occasions. Adam Kirby has been booked to ride this son of Sea The Stars on his handicap debut and it would be no surprise to see an improved showing from the half-brother to Justineo.
Instead take a chance with Little Miss Daisy in the 1.30 at Lingfield.
She won her maiden over course and distance before finishing down the field in a nursery at Chelmsford City won by the rapidly progressive Dazacam. The winner aside the form is working out nicely enough and this represents a significant drop in grade for William Muir's filly who wasn't suited by the way that race was run.
Martin Harley is a positive booking and the return to Lingfield can only be a plus; back her each-way at a double figure price.
