Tip of the Day: Shah to shine
Ben Linfoot heads to Hamilton for the racing tip of the day, with one of Mick Channon's fancied to strike.
Mick Channon: Can win with Shahaama
The ground is heavy at Hamilton, but the good thing is they survived a morning inspection. Conditions must be just about as testing as they get at the Scottish track.
With that in mind, I was all over Jack Dexter on his ideal conditions, as you may have read earlier, but 26 minutes after that tip was published he was declared a non-runner due to a bruised foot. Get well soon, Jack.
It's back to the drawing board, then, but sticking to Hamilton and the ground theme perhaps today can be the day Mick Channon's SHAHAAMA can put her best foot forward again.
She runs in division two of the toteexacta Forecast the 1st And 2nd Handicap at 2.50 and she's just 2lb higher now than she was when winning a soft ground handicap at Goodwood in June.
That was only a six-runner race but it wasn't a bad one for the grade. The second has run well in defeat several times since while the third, fourth, fifth and sixth have all won.

The only one who hasn't franked the form is Shahaama herself, but she ran much better last time at Salisbury when fourth behind Fleeting Dream and you can mark her effort up as she was denied a clear run on a couple of occasions.
She is yet to run on conditions as testing as today's, but that Goodwood win came on genuine soft ground so there is hope she'll handle the mud and she's handicapped to go close judging by that performance in Sussex.
Channon has been teaming up with Graham Lee with great effect this season too, which boosts confidence in the selection.
Lee has won six times from 22 rides for Channon this year, a win strike-rate of 27 per cent and a £1 level stake profit of +£29.
They're healthy numbers and at 9/2 Shahaama is worth backing to boost that percentage further.
