Tip of the Day: Take Tango

Ben Linfoot is in the Tip of the Day chair and he feels there's one at a huge price in the Wolverhampton feature this afternoon.

Intense Tango (right): Could get the run of the race at Wolverhampton today

INTENSE TANGO – 4.00 Wolverhampton

There's an intriguing fast-track qualifier on the all-weather at Wolverhampton this afternoon as the stayers do battle in the Betway Conditions Stakes over the extended two miles at 4.00.

Godolphin dominate the betting with Famous Kid and Antiquarium and while the pair set the standard on form I'm not sure I'd be taking a short price about either.

Both come in here on the back of time off the track, significantly so in Famous Kid's case as he hasn't been seen for the best part of a year.

He goes well fresh, but was very keen the last time he tried this trip, at this track, and if he's too fresh in the early stages it will be difficult for him to win.

Antiquarium settled well off a relatively moderate pace for the race when he won the Northumberland Plate, but he benefited from having a run before that victory and he is on a bit of a retrieval mission after disappointing in the Ebor when last seen in August.

This could be more competitive than the betting suggests, then, and the one that looks overpriced is Karl Burke's INTENSE TANGO at prices as big as 25/1 this morning.

She has something to find with the market principals as you would expect at those odds, but she does get 5lb which will help and crucially she could get the run of the race up front.

The Mastercraftsman mare is at her best when allowed to lead and she does look the most likely to take the initiative in this contest, judging by recent form at least.

Proven on the speed over 1m6f, Dougie Costello could well dictate the tempo here and if that's the case, his mount has the pace to make a race of this on the turn for home.

Whether she will stay is also an unknown, as she's yet to race beyond 1m6f on the level. However, she is a half-sister to a Sagaro Stakes winner and she is a Grade Two hurdles winner over two miles at Doncaster.

Unfortunately there's only seven runners with Havana Beat withdrawn, as she would've been a nice little each-way bet.

Still, a small win bet will suffice and there's also the potential for an in-running trade here if that sort of thing floats your boat.

Sky Bet are offering EXTRA VALUE to followers of the Sporting Life Tip Of The Day with guaranteed prices at 1000 every morning.

What does this mean? From 1000 (BST) on the morning of publication, Sky Bet will be industry-best price on all selections in the Tip Of The Day column for ONE HOUR until 1100 (BST). In the event of non-runners having had a material effect on the market since publication, Sky Bet will guarantee to offer the top-price in the market place.
