Towton target for Singlefarmpayment
Singlefarmpayment could be stepped up in class on his next start to tackle the Totepool Towton Novices' Chase at Wetherby.
Singlefarmpayment: Towton target
Trainer Tom George is leaning towards making the Grade Two prize on February 4 the next target for the six-year-old.
After finishing in the minor placings for George on his first two starts over fences, the former Tom Lacey-trained gelding made it third time lucky when casting aside a useful field at Cheltenham earlier this month.
George said: "Singlefarmpayment has come out of the Cheltenham race fine. We gave him a quiet week off and we are now rocking away again.
"Unfortunately there isn't a novice chase back at Cheltenham on trials day for him. The Towton might be a suitable race for him.
"The Reynoldstown is another option, but he needs a bit of a gap between races and I'm leaning more towards Wetherby.
"He likes Cheltenham and I've got that in the back of my mind and we've got to be seriously thinking about it (RSA Chase at the Festival).
"He has done nothing wrong and there is no reason why he can't improve again. Adrian Heskin knows him well and I'd like to think we have got the hang of him now."
A trip to the Cheltenham in March could also be on the agenda for Battle Of Shiloh, who made it four from four since joining George with victory at Newcastle last Saturday.
George said: "He has now won six from six (including two points). He has come out of that race well, but there are no definite plans for him yet.
"He has done everything we have asked and I would probably say we would go for the same sort of race again. We will just step him up gradually.
"One thing I would say though is that he could be a candidate for the four-miler at Cheltenham as his stamina is not a problem, but I need to speak to the owners (Paul and Clare Rooney) and Jason Maguire (racing manager) first."
