SAM TWISTON-DAVIES, who suffered a spleen injury at Chepstow on October 9, will return to Wales for his comeback ride at Ffos Las on Wednesday when he partners Southport for his father Nigel.
The rider, who has been maintaining his fitness at Oaksey House in Lambourn, had hoped to return sooner, but is thrilled to be back in action.
He said; "It's nice to get back going again and hopefully I can pick up where I left off before and pick up a few nice rides at the weekend."
Twiston-Davies is not the only jockey set to make his return on Wednesday as Henry Brooke, just seven weeks after being placed in an induced coma, will be on board Sophie Olivia in Catterick's bumper.
Brooke was airlifted to hospital after a fall at Hexham on October 8 left him with a punctured lung and broken ribs.
He got the all-clear to return on Monday and has been keen to get his eye in before partnering last year's winner Highland Lodge in the Betfred Becher Chase at Aintree on Saturday.
"I can't wait for the Becher Chase, but I don't think I'll be sitting on Highland Lodge again before then unless Jimmy [Moffatt] wants me to," he said.
"I'd never sat on him in my life before Aintree last year and he was brilliant there, so I don't think there is any need."
