JAVIER CASTELLANO timed his challenge to perfection on New Money Honey, sweeping home down the straight to win for Chad Brown, as the massed European challenge failed to get involved.

Winner of the Grade 3 Miss Grillo Stakes last time out, New Money Honey benefited from the hard fractions set by Lull, with the turf course riding very fast.

Trainer Chad Brown said: "I think this filly has an unbelievable future. A mile just a touch short for her, but with all the big races next year being longer than a mile I think this filly has an unbelievable future."

Cavale Doree was best of the European challenge in third for French trainer Christophe Ferland, as the Americans continued their early dominance of the big races at the meeting.

Roly Poly was up with the pace for Aidan O'Brien, along with Hydrangea, but neither managed to land a blow in the closing stages, while Intricately was never a factor for Joseph O'Brien.

Spain Burg, who won the Rockfel when trained in France before joining Kathy Ritvo, was another disappointment under Frankie Dettori, who had high hopes for the filly coming into the race.

Aidan O'Brien felt the race was perhaps a step too far for his duo, as he said: "Ryan [Moore] thought his filly was just a little bit tired. Ryan went forward and at half way she felt a little bit tired.

"Seamus [Heffernan] felt the same with his filly, he thought that her action might not have been as good as it has been before and he looked after her – that was it. The two of them have had long, hard seasons and we just felt it was worth letting them come here for a Group 1 and letting them have a shot at it, but they'll be fine next year."
