Varian encouraged by Nezwaah

Roger Varian

Roger Varian is keen for Nezwaah to return to the top table after she won so well on her seasonal debut at Ayr on Wednesday.

The four-year-old filly signed off last season when beaten just two lengths in the Grade One EP Taylor Stakes at Woodbine in October.

Nezwaah bossed the Listed Rothesey Stakes on her first start since then and holds a clutch of big-race summer entries.

Her trainer told www.varianstable.com: "I have always thought a great deal of Nezwaah and this was a most pleasing return to action.

"We dipped her into Grade One company last year and that is where she will hopefully end up once again.

"She currently holds entries at Royal Ascot (Duke of Cambridge Stakes and Prince of Wales's Stakes) and the Curragh (Pretty Polly Stakes) and we will let the dust settle before making a plan."
