Walsh: Mad tough nut to crack
Un De Sceaux, who has the distinction of being Willie Mullins' only runner in Britain this season, is currently trading as the odds-on favourite for the Berkshire Community Foundation Clarence House Chase.
Un De Sceaux is on course for the Clarence house Chase
However, his jockey Ruby Walsh is taking nothing for granted and respects Ar Mad, who was far from disgraced when fourth in the Tingle Creek on what was his first run for almost 300 days.
"It looks being being a pretty similar race to the Tingle Creek bar Sire De Grugy but with Special Tiara," Walsh told Racing UK.
"I'd imagine Ar Mad will be less exuberant after having a run, though, and he'll be a tough nut to crack."
Ar Mad will be the sole representative for trainer Gary Moore whose Sire De Grugy will bypass an outing in Saturday's Grade One at Ascot.
Moore had initially stated he was a doubtful runner but the prospect of soft ground threw the 2014 Champion Chase winner back into the mix.
The Sussex based handler also had a jockey dilemma with son Josh currently on the sidelines but running only one of the pair will allow brother Jamie to take the ride on Ar Mad.
