Willie Mullins: Apple’s Jade hurdle victory is a dream come true

APPLE’S JADE moved to the top of the juvenile hurdle tree with a record 41-length victory in the Grade One Betfred Anniversary Hurdle.

She was second to Ivanovich Gorbatov in the JCB Triumph Hurdle last month, but beat him out of sight this time.

Her trainer Willie Mullins said: “I couldn’t dream of anything like that.

“We were hoping to win, but that was quite extraordinary.

“When Bryan [Cooper] got off her he told me she still had plenty in the tank.”

Paddy Power make Apple’s Jade their 5-2 favourite for the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle at next year’s Cheltenham Festival.
