Winter among 30 in the Matron

Winter is in complete command of the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot

Winter and Qemah star among 30 entries for the Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes at Leopardstown on September 9.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained Winter has been the dominant force among her own age group so far this season, winning the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, the Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh and the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Qemah, trained in France by Jean-Claude Rouget, was third in last season's Matron Stakes and was last seen striking Royal Ascot gold for the second time in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes.

O'Brien is also responsible for last year's winner Alice Springs and has nine entries in total.

John Gosden has a trio of contenders in last year's runner-up Persuasive, Princess Elizabeth Stakes winner Laugh Aloud and Shutter Speed.

Other possibles include the William Haggas-trained Sea Of Grace, Hugo Palmer's Unforgetable Filly and Talaayeb from Owen Burrows' stable.

Pat Keogh, Chief Executive of Leopardstown Racecourse, said: "The Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes is an internationally-recognised race that is an integral part of the global racing calendar and we are delighted that this is reflected in the entries, a third of which are from overseas.

"We are delighted with the performance of the Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes to date and 2017 promises to be another strong renewal."

British trainers are responsible for 17 of the 33 entries for the Derrinstown Stud Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh on September 10.

Potential raiders include Profitable, Marsha, Muthmir and Take Cover, while the home team is headed by the brilliant Caravaggio.
