Wolferton option for Pinzolo
Pinzolo could be dropped back in both class and trip on his next start at Royal Ascot.
Although the Ismail Mohammed-trained six-year-old holds an entry in the Hardwicke Stakes, connections are considering running him in the Wolferton Handicap instead.
Having enjoyed a busy campaign on the all-weather over the winter, the son of Monsun made an encouraging switch back to turf last time out when finishing third in a Group Two at Newmarket.
Assistant trainer Mike Marshall said: "I think the next aim for Pinzolo will be Royal Ascot. The Hardwicke Stakes has been on the agenda, but at the same time there are other options we are looking at as well.
"We might possibly drop him back in trip to a mile and a quarter for the Wolferton. He is in good form and has taken everything well. He is a happy horse and we have been on the right side of him.
"We know how stiff Ascot is and it would suit his style of running, but he doesn't have to make it. He almost gets a second wind in his races, as when horses come by him he seems to run on again.
"Hopefully we will get him there in one piece and hopefully he will run a big race, but they are all tough races at Ascot."
